  • Feed the birds: Go to a park or pond to feed the ducks/seagulls. This date is very low key and great setting to have a good conversation. Bring a frisbee or other object to throw around while at the park. 

  • Go to a local animal shelter or pet store and play with the animals. The fish aquariums are fun and interesting to see all the funny looking and different types of fish. 

  • Check out events going on at a local university or look in the newspaper in the free events section. Universities or the city will generally put on several free events in a month. 

  • Get up early to watch the sunrise together (or sunset): Try to find a spot with a good lookout, like your roof or up a hill. Have breakfast together afterwards. 

 

  • Go to a pawn shop or antique store and browse the unique section. This setting usually starts a great conversation since something is boud to remind you of something fun to talk about. Turn this date into a fun scavenger hunt! Click Here!

 

  • Visit places around town that you have never been before. If you have a downtown city area, go walk the main street. Downtown streets usually have interesting niche shops you may pass by everyday but never notice they are even there! You'll discover all kinds of interesting things you haven't noticed before.

 

  • Look up historical sights within your area and visit them. You'll be surprised to see what you have been missing all these years!

 

  • Go to an art gallery/galleries. Galleries usually don't cost anything whereas art museums most likely will. 

 

  • Bible Charades: On small pieces of paper write down all of the Bible stories that you know and put them into a hat. Take turns drawing and play bible charades.   • Disney Night: Talk about your favorite Disney movies growing up then follow by jamming out to your favorite Disney tunes. End the night with a mutually favorite Disney movie. If the date turns out to be a memorable success, in the future (such as a birthday or other special day) buy a stuffed animal or figurine of your date's favorite Disney character and reference an inside joke or romantic phrase from the night you had your fantastic Disney date. 

 

  • Dream On: On a piece of paper, draw the house of your dreams. Get imaginative. It doesn't have to be limited to the physical laws of this world. Draw a house that is in the clouds, or an imaginary planet. It is fun to imagine having some of the finest luxuries in your dream home. For example you could draw a house that had a fridge that will produce whatever food you want on command!  If this is a little too much for you, just stick a home that can fit into the realm of reality.  Drawing your dream home sparks great conversation and can be really revealing about what a person values in a home. 

 

  • Find a developing neighborhood and walk through the houses and talk about the floor plans you like or dislike. Maybe there will be an open house of a finished home available. 

  • Built a fort in your living room.

  • Skip rocks at a lake, river, or canal.

  • Find a pretty place in nature and sit and talk. Dip your feet into a steam. Enjoy to beautiful outdoors around you. 

  • Go to a music/video/book store such as Hastings or Barnes and noble and pick out a book. Take turns reading in with different accents. This can get really funny if you pick a well known story book like Twilight or Harry Potter.

  • Go to the library and pick out some fascinating picture books on topics that interest you such as travel,animal, national geographic, etc.  This is bound to spark a good conversation. 

  • Outdoor sport dates don't cost you anything if you already have the sports equipment (ball,glove,club,etc). Brainstorm things that you have already have the supplies for to come up with a free date!
